Jessica DiNapoli has been an animal enthusiast since day one. Her interest in the animal sciences has taken her to a number of different places, working with a variety of animals.
Jessica has worked in small companion-animal care, marine mammal husbandry, and large-animal sports therapy.
After completing her four years at the University of New Hampshire, where she received her BS in pre-veterinary medicine, Jessica moved to “horse country” in Lexington, Kentucky. There, she attended the first program of its kind in the country, an equine therapy program offered by Midway College.
This program was put into instruction by the pioneer of the industry, Mimi Porter. Mimi is the founder and owner of Equine Therapy, Inc., a therapy team servicing the finest equine athletes in Kentucky.
It was here that Jessica received hands-on training in lameness evaluation, equine behavior, anatomy, physiology and the use and application of therapeutic modalities with some of the finest equine professionals in the country.
Jessica was then able to fine-tune her skills at the Kentucky Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (KESMARC), one of the finest equine sports medicine facilities in the country today. It was here that Jessica was able to apply her hands-on skills to some of the most elite equine athletes in the world, including several Kentucky Derby runners. She returned to Rhode Island in May of 2006 so she could apply her skills to her equine companions in New England.
Jessica is the proud owner of J.D. ANIMAL THERAPY, Inc. and is here to help strengthen the bond between you and your horse.
